![]() The Online Helpline was built using special anonymous routing methods that obscure the connection between you and Safe Helpline staff via the use of a unique code that cannot be traced back to you. There are four key steps we’ve taken to give you the highest level of security: We have partnered with the nation’s top technology and online security companies to build a helpline infrastructure that is as safe and secure as current technology allows. How have we made Safe Helpline online sessions safe? ![]() User feedback helps us continuously improve the Online Helpline and ensure our services best fit our users’ needs. We take these ratings and comments seriously. In addition, each chat is overseen by a highly trained Safe Helpline Supervisor to ensure all users have a positive helpline experience. When you are done chatting with the staff member, you have the opportunity to leave anonymous feedback for Safe Helpline about your experience with the Online Helpline. To ensure quality support and care, Safe Helpline carefully vets, trains, and monitors the performance of all staff members. Not every survivor comes to the Safe Helpline looking to connect with additional resources, and that’s okay. This means that the survivor is in control of the direction of the conversation and learning about any additional resources they would like to pursue. Safe Helpline provides inclusive, culturally-relevant services using a survivor-centered and survivor-led approach. Staff come from diverse backgrounds with different experiences but they all share a passion for helping others. You can take comfort in knowing that Safe Helpline staff members are trained to meet the unique needs of survivors within the DoD community. It can be difficult to talk about what happened. To learn more, review the info-paper here, or you can ask Safe Helpline staff for more information. Follow-up Support is entirely optional and staff will never ask for PII if you do not want to receive a follow-up call. The check-in allows you to connect back with Safe Helpline staff, review resources provided during the original contact and ask any additional questions. Follow-up Support is an optional resource that provides survivors who have not yet reported their sexual assault to a military authority to receive a follow-up call from Safe Helpline. If you would like to receive a follow-up call to ensure that you were able to connect with the resources provided, our staff can discuss that option with you. Additionally, Safe Helpline will never deny services to a member of the DoD community, including lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer (LGBTQ+) community. This includes anything you share about your Service, rank, race, gender , or sexual orientation. We will not share any information you provide during a call with the Department of Defense (DoD) or your chain of command. You can feel free to share as much or as little as you like with us. ![]() The service is completely anonymous and confidential-we will never ask you for any information that would identify who you are. You'll enter a private one-on-one chat with a trained Safe Helpline staff member and chat live by typing messages back and forth. The Online Helpline works like other instant messaging and online chat systems, but with enhanced security measures.
![]() The weave: depending on the feel you're after look for either 'percale' cotton for cool, crisp bedding or 'sateen' for luxurious silkiness.Whether they're known for bamboo sheets, great value sham sets, or silk pillowcases to help with your skin and hair, researching the brand beforehand will help. The brand: tried and tested bedding brands by us will guarantee great sleep. These are the other buying factors to consider when shopping for sheets: Rather than get hung up on the thread count, buy the best you can afford, and above all, go for the feel. Other quality factors to consider when shopping See the list of materials below for their quality and thread count comparisons: Polyester sheets, for example, are of the lowest quality fabric, mass-produced without environmental standards or certifications that confirm they are made without harmful chemicals or substances. Material: Despite the thread count, the bedding material you choose can make sheets more expensive. Experts agree that the ideal number is between 300-400. The exact number in a thread count depends on the thickness of the yarns used, and some manufacturers may use multi-ply yarn which increases the number of wefts without increasing the thickness. So, for example, a cotton sheet with 100 warp threads and 100 weft threads per square inch of fabric has a thread count of 200. ![]() Thread count: The thread count is simply the number of warp (length) and weft (width) threads per square inch. The best thread count for bed sheets isn't the most expensive option, and material can often impact price more. While you may think thread count is the sole indicator of quality bed sheets, it shouldn't be the prime selling point. ![]() ![]() One of dozens of anonymous voices, parceled out in cubicles in a vast room, she conducts impersonal conversations with strangers. What did we have here? "The Rapture" opens with Mimi Rogers playing Sharon, a woman who works as a phone information operator. All I knew of Michael Tolkin, who wrote and directed "The Rapture," was that he was also the author of The Player, a cold, brilliant novel about a Hollywood studio executive who commits a murder more or less by accident, and then deals with the guilt in passages of excruciating paranoia. ![]() Certainly not a film that began with casual sex, and ended with a literal depiction of a fundamentalist view of the apocalypse. 8 at the Water Tower.) Walking into the movie for the first time, last Labor Day at the Telluride Film Festival, I hardly knew what to expect. It's a film with the same ambiguity of the Thomas-Hill hearings everyone sees the same thing, but nobody can agree on what it means. There are people who love it and many who hate it, but few who can remain on the sidelines. ![]() Here is one of the most radical, infuriating, engrossing, challenging movies I've ever seen. But not until Michael Tolkin's "The Rapture" has there been a movie to seriously consider what the end of the world might be like, if the biblical prophecies turn out to be literally true. ![]() There have been dozens of movies that dealt in one way or another with the afterlife, with death and heaven and hell. ![]() ![]() ![]() Not authentic? YOU’RE TEARING ME APART LISA! It’s reminiscent of the high-energy selections of Pac-Man Championship Edition 2, and amp you up as you keep playing the game. The music is amazing here as well, with chiptune-inspired tracks from a bevy of artists contributing to the old-school feel of the game. ![]() There’s also a host of different 5-color palettes from which to use in case you’re colorblind or want a change of scenery, which I think is a very nice way to make this game more accessible to more audiences. That isn’t to say this game is graphically dull, as the sprites are well animated and full of life. Having a more colorful game would distract players, and there’s already so much going on within levels. I think it’s an innovative color scheme, especially since the game emphasizes split-second decisions. This also includes enemies that can hinder your progress or help you out by acting as a springboard to jump on. This is also accomplished with the game’s self-proclaimed “5-bit” color palette mainly, everything good to touch is green, and anything deadly is red. Things like shrinking and enlarging Slime to become increasingly or decreasingly mobile, rising platforms that you have avoid, and streams of water that act as walls are just some of the many obstacles that will spice up the variety of Slime-san. You’d think that this would get stale after a few levels, but each level uses different gimmicks that will test your mastery in thoughtful and inventive ways. He can wall jump and jump again, dash out of harm’s way (which will also speed the rest of the level up in time), and slow down (making him transparent and allowing him to pass through green colored walls and obstacle). Slime starts out with his moves which is all you need to survive. The two things that stand out in Slime-san are its mechanics and gameplay. The main game is about frantic yet precise jumps and dodges, and focuses on speed over all else. ![]() In addition, on every screen is a soft timer which, after depleting, will release the worm’s acid touching this will also count as a death. In order to traverse the deadly trappings of his worm habitat, Slime must utilize jump, dash, and slo-mo techniques, which are imperative to surviving, as one hit from an enemy or hazard will make you start over from the most recent screen. Most levels are divided into four screens, with an arrow sign directing you where to head next. Accompanied with a little bird, our little slime has to make his way out through 100 levels of challenging platforming goodness using three simple mechanics. Slime-san begins with the eponymous creature getting eaten by a worm. It’s with this mindset that I’ve adored my time with Frabazz’s Slime-San, an adorable twitch-based platformer that’s easy to pick up, engaging, and will keep you coming back for more. They’re also not too graphics intensive, opting for a stylistic approach that makes those games stand out. While I’m by no means a speedrunner, I can see the appeal of perfecting your run in games like Super Meat Boy and Mega Man, and these games are full of tight controls and difficult yet fair control mechanics. My aesthetic is cute platformers that will punish you at the drop of the hat. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It lacks any kind of meaning or message, and nothing about it is standout whatsoever. Any viral marketing moment they tried to achieve didn't work, because Countdown simply did not go viral. The film seems to be just kind of a failure from start to finish. It was also panned by critics in most settings, and is generally thought of as a bad movie. While it didn't end up a horribly massive failure in terms of money making, it's hardly a film people would know about. They even created a real version of the app for mobile devices, though why people would want to try something like that after the film is beyond explanation. It was explicitly aimed at young people, with most marketing found on social media like TikTok. This is shown most evidently through their marketing. There was effort put into this movie, even though it turned out to be a disaster. Watching Countdown and researching it is almost cringe-inducing because it's so evident that the people behind it really thought they were doing something. There's potential maybe for it to be good for young people who might just be getting into the genre, but there really are better ones out there to serve that purpose. Horror lovers won't be into it because it's not intense enough, thriller fans won't love it because it's not particularly thrilling. It'll completely leave the mind immediately after viewing it. Nothing about it is memorable in the slightest and it just kind of comes off as average and boring. It's predictable and doesn't really have a message or a theme. Everything just feels overwhelmingly meh. While the film isn't necessarily hard to get through upon a viewing, it just doesn't stick with the audience. It feels like it wants to be its own franchise, to be punchy and intense enough to gain a lot of fans, but it's just not there. None of it feels very high stakes or intense, and any deaths or gore are just not very memorable. Countdown is just too bland and too tame to have the same effect. It also has incredibly fun and effective death scenes, with great use of gore. The audience generally knows what it's getting into, but it's somehow still full of surprises with its fun twists. ![]() Final Destination works because it's a highly entertaining formula. ![]() ![]() ![]() Continued abuse of our services will cause your IP address to be blocked indefinitely.
